Teriyaki Chicken is a Japanese home cooking. It is one of popular dishes.
Let’s cook Teriyaki Chicken!
・Ingredients (1-2 servings)
※ 1 tablespoon (15ml) soy sauce
※ 1 tablespoon (15ml) mirin(sweet sake)
If you use 300g chicken thigh, increase ※ to 1.5 times
1/3 tablespoon (5ml) salad oil
red hot pepper powder, as needed
1. Poke into the both surfaces of the chicken thigh with a fork and make holes to absorb more flavor.
2. Pour ※ into plastic bag and mix well. Soak chicken into the bag and leave for 10minutes. (Turn over from time to time.)
3. Heat salad oil on a frying pan over medium heat. Take the chicken out of the bag and place the skin side down.(Leftover sauce will be used after.)
Heat the chicken till golden brown color with high heat and turn over it.
4. When the opposite side of it turn golden brown, turn the heat down to law. Then leftover sauce 3. onto the chicken and put lid on it.
5. From time to time take off lid and turn the chicken in the sauce so it is coated evenly. Turn over the chicken and do the same thing on the other side of it. (After that, put lid on a pan again.)
6. After steam cook,cut it into bite-size pieces.

※ 1 tablespoon (15ml) mirin(sweet sake)

Steam cook for about 8 minutes(4.and 5.total) .
(If the chicken is 300 g, do for about 10 minutes.) Cook the inside well.
5. From time to time take off lid and turn the chicken in the sauce so it is coated evenly. Turn over the chicken and do the same thing on the other side of it. (After that, put lid on a pan again.)
6. After steam cook,cut it into bite-size pieces.
and add vegetables as a side dish if you like.
If you like sweet taste, you may add a little bit of sugar to 2. But it is easy to burnt. You had better not use sugar for the first time.

You can also use the following seasoning instead of ※
2 tablespoon (30ml) soy sauce
2 tablespoon (30ml) sugar
1/2 tablespoon (7.5ml) Japanese sake
This is for 300 g chicken thigh. This is also easy to burnt.
