Nabe Ryori (Hot Pot Dish) is a favorite dish especially in winter in Japan.

It is a hot pot dish in which simmerd ingredients such as vegitables, meat, mashrooms, fish and seafood, tofu and shirataki(konjaku thin noodles).

・Eating Nabe Ryori keeps our body warm. Eating Nabe Ryori is also good for communication because we sit around Nabe (Pot) and eat the simmering ingredients directly from the shared pot.

Sometimes we put steamed rice & egg (We call it Zosui*) or Udon or rice cakes to leftover soup. It is also delicious.

*Zosui is a kind of porridge. The ingredients are soup and steamed rice or vegetables or eggs or meat or fish.

There are many kinds of Nabe Ryori also in other Asian countries.
For example in Thailand, there is a dish called 'Thai Suki' (Thai-style sukiyaki,) which is, however, more similar to Japanese shabu-shabu or Yosenabe than sukiyaki.
