Some stories about instant noodles ( invention, new release ,ramen museum)

Nowadays, instant ramen (instant noodles) are marketed worldwide (they are produced and consumed mainly in East Asia and USA.)
As of 2015, approximately 97.7 billion servings of instant noodles were eaten in the world. (Estimated by World Instant Noodles Association)

There are several stories about the origin of instant noodles, but generally it is said instant noodles were invented by Monofuku Ando.

He was from Taiwan and founded Nissin foods in Japan in 1958.

I watched the episode of invention on TV.
He had been struggled to find how to dry noodle block instantly in those days.

He took a cue from seeing his wife fry Tempura at home.  After that he invented to dry noodles by flash frying method.

The first instant noodle was marketed on 25 August 1958, by Nissin foods, under the brand name Chicken Ramen.

As you know, there are two types of instant noodles.

1: Noodles in a bag
We can prepare them by boiling dried noodles. Noodles are pre-seasoned or powdered soup is in a separate packet.

2: Noodles in a cup
Powdered soup and noodles (also dried vegetables, meats, eggs, seaweeds, fishcakes, and so on. Toppings depend on the products. ) are already in a cup so we can eat noodles anywhere only by pouring hot water.

Originally, instant dried noodle block is fried.

But nowadays, non-fried instant noodle block is also sold because of drying technological advance. Some of them are similar texture to fresh noodles ( non-dried noodle). 
 
There are a lot of different kinds of noodle soup.

Miso (soybean paste flavor), Shio(salt flavor), Syoyu(soy sauce flavor), Tonkotsu(pork bone broth flavor).

Recently new taste Cup Noodle was sold by Nissin foods. I'll introduce some of them:

・Chili Crab (This taste is similar to Singaporean food Chili crab. Crab flavor+chili+tomato sour+dried egg) April/3th/2017

・Pork Soy sauce (calorie off non-fried noodle block+pork flavor+soy sauce soup+pepper) April/10th/2017

・Creamy sea food(calorie off non-fried noodle block + creamy sea food flavor) April/10th/2017

・Awabi-fumi Oyster-nikomi (Abalone-flavor Oyster stew)
This is one of premium series. This taste is similar to high-class Chinese food.(Oyster sauce flavor+abalone soy sauce) April/24th/2017

・Tom yam kung (This taste is similar to Thailand food Tom yam kung. bitter+sour+spicy+shrimp) This taste was too popular and it was sold out before. But now it is sold again.

Especially ‘Chicken Ramen Factory’ is very popular so reservations required. You can experience the process chicken ramen is made there and take freshly made original chicken ramen to your home.

You can also experience ‘My CUPNOODLES Factory’ without reservation. You can make original package and select soup and toppings by yourself.

Nowadays, you can eat instant ramen in a various place in the world, but if you have a chance to come to Japan, you must try Japanese instant ramen!
