Even if you don’t have an electric rice cooker, you can make rice with gas stove easily.
I’ll introduce the easiest original recipe.
This isn’t a typical way, but you can cook good taste rice.
1. Prepare pots and pans.
You can use many kinds of pots and pans. If you don’t have them, fry-pan (=skillet) is also OK.
A lot of bubbles are coming up, so select a little bigger one.
And you need also a lid of it.
2. Measure rice and put it in a bowl.
180cc(=180ml) rice is for one or two person.
3. How to rinse rice.
Pour water into the bowl and just turn round and round ( like a circle) with whisk(=egg beater) lightly and rhythmically.
You don’t need to whip or scrub it.
At first after doing only about three times(just three circles), go to No.4.
Note: You should not use detergent !
4. After the first No.3., wait a minute . After the rice have settled, pour off the water.
5. Next, you do No.3. about twenty times (20 circles) and go to No.4.
You need to repeat No.3.→No.4. about 4 times. Please check how the water cloud. A little cloudy is no problem.
And a little remained water is OK.
6. Transfer rice to a pot (or a pan or a fry-pan). And pour water ( rice 180cc →water 180cc~215cc*) into it.
*rice : water=1:1→hard , rice : water =1:1.2→standard
7. Put a lid on it, and cook the rice on high heat.
Please watch carefully. As soon as the bubbles start overflowing, take off a lid quickly.
*Using gas stove(=gas cooker) is not necessary. You can use induction cooker, too.
8. Keep boiling it on high heat.
After while many bubbles begin to calm down.
9. With keep boiling it on high heat, check the surface of water.
Water remains but you can see rice. And you can see some small holes anywhere surface of it.
Then speedily go to No.10.
(You don’t need to wait for all water to evaporate. That’ s too much.)
10. Again put a lid to it. Turn off the gas and wait for 5-10minutes to steam.
We used Japanese rice. If you use another country's rice, please try yourself with refer to this recipe.
